Accompanied by live percussion, participants explored the rhythms of African diaspora dances through an embodied dialogue between movement and sound, developing their music-kinetic perception and deepening their awareness of rhythm, presence, and collective experience. Drawing from Afro-Brazilian dance traditions, the workshop focused on grounding, the relationship with the earth, and the symbolic dimensions embedded within this movement vocabulary. Through the exploration of choreographic and kinetic motifs characteristic of Afro-Brazilian dance, improvisation became a tool for activating bodily imagination, creativity, and personal expression. By deconstructing and reconfiguring elements of Afro-Brazilian movement language, participants engaged in a collective choreographic process, culminating in the creation and sharing of a short composition.
